The preamble to the following can be found in the comments sectionhttps://www.ambergrisbeware.com/#comment-66
He states “literally, like plaster when I found it”. He claims only 99.8% wasn’t plaster. He states “within 6 months that part was stone too”.
He then states “3 years ago it was super waxy”. Then “now its solid, like plaster, …”.
So to summarize the piece was plaster he found it and was super waxy 3 years ago. Are we to assume it was plaster then wax and then plaster again and now it is stone. Plaster and wax are a bit like chalk and cheese, at opposite ends of the pole.
He states that he believes it has no ambrein. It won’t, simply because rock does not have ambrein. Rock doesn’t burn either and it doesn’t float. It is total rubbish that ambergris turns into stone, won’t burn or float. He does not have ambergris. He has rock, like his friend Duncan Harold Payne.
The above and below pieces are highly suspicious. The claim of “pure ambrein” is fiction. No ambergris is pure ambrein. Neither of these pieces are likely to be ambergris.
He calls this “Very white…ambergris” Looks grey.
We recommend reading the Facebook entry. He states it got sun burnt on the beach. We are very familiar with this. Ambergris acquires a patina of discoloration when sun burnt. The discoloration on this piece is deep. The patina occurs only on the side exposed to the sun. Core waxy ambergris will not only discolor but it will melt producing a flat shape and if its on a beach sand or stones will become embedded in the surface. This piece shows no signs of beach sun burn.
